Functional breathing - the pathway to better health, sleep and performance.

The Buteyko method and Oxygen Advantage (OA) are science-based breathing methods that help develop healthy breathing habits, reduce stress, anxiety, and asthma, and improve sleep, sports performance, and quality of life through nasal breathing and CO2 tolerance.

Functional Breathing Methods No. 1

The Buteyko method is a breathing technique developed by Konstantin Buteyko, which teaches people to breathe slower and calmer, primarily through the nose, to normalize oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the body, to alleviate breathing problems such as asthma, allergies, stress, and sleep disorders, using exercises that involve breath control and "control pauses" (Control Pause or BOLT score) to measure progress.

The Oxygen Advantage (Functional Breathing) method, developed by Patrick McKeown, is a breathing technique based on Dr. Buteyko's principles that simulates high-altitude training and improves both physical performance and mental health by optimizing oxygen utilization through nasal breathing and controlled breath-holds. The main goal is to train the body to tolerate more carbon dioxide, release oxygen more efficiently to the cells, and reduce breathing volume for better endurance and well-being.
